The city is surrounded by hills and is the cradle of Nepalese civilization and culture. The Kathmandu valley boasts of seven worlds cultural Heritage sites all with in a radius of 20kms. The city is famous for its Archeological and historical sites. Once a separate kingdom in itself, it contains four major fabled cities, Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur Other interesting sites such as Namo Buddha, an amazing legend related to the Buddha which is good place for medatation, Budanilkantha (about 8 km north of kathmandu) is remarkable colossable status of Lord Vishnu, reclining on bed of snakes, Dachhin Kali a tantrc goodness and famous Chovar Gorge are very interesting place for sight-seeing around Kathmandu valley.
